If I can figure out how to improve on those two items with the LG 27UK850-W 27' 4K, I might keep it and return the Apple/LG 5k but I doubt there is a fix for the sound issue and I'm not going for external speakers. the Apple/LG wins due to the following:ġ) Better integration with Apple KeyboardĢ) Better, richer sound from the Apple 5k/LG. I was wanting the LG 27UK850-W 27' 4K over the 2x more expensive Apple monitor but after a few hours (only) of comparing. The MacBook fan turned on some during FCPX but no big deal as nothing has melted down as of yet.Īs to comparing the two monitors. I did pick up the 5k 27' Apple/LG product, and also a LG 27UK850-W 27' 4K - for comparison.īoth the 4k and 5k worked equally well in PS, LR, and FCPX using my little 8gb, 13' 2019 MacBook Pro, lid closed.
